Everything in your apartment should be in working order. If there are any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us. You will also find additional appliances and games available for use by all guests in the louvre door cabinet down on the patio by the pool. Feel free to use whatever you would like but we ask that you return it after use, cleaned and put back into the closet for others to use.
Since we are a community of different apartments, we do have house rules that we ask you to review and abide by to ensure the comfort of all of our guests.

Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair, inspection or emergency. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner by giving at least 2 hours notice (unless in case of emergency).
Rental Rate and Fees:
Departure: Rooms will be inspected upon departure to confirm that there is no damage caused to the property/furnishings. Any problems identified will be communicated to the guests and will incur additional cost for repair/replacement.
Check out is at 11:00 am. If you'd like to leave your bags at Hummingbird Retreat after check-out, we are happy to hold them until your ferry or plane flight. Late Check Out of the rooms (if available) will be an additional cost of $10.
Swimming Pool Area/Bar - This area is for the use of all guests. Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk. No lifeguard is on duty. No jumping/diving/running in/around the pool. The bar area is a shared space - sink & grill need to be clean after use.
Grill Area's - There is a BBQ grill on the rooftop patio as well as the pool bar. Please clean the grill after use and keep the area clean.
Washing Machine / Line - There is a washing machine on site for use by all the guests. You will need to provide your own detergent. In addition, there is a washing line on the rooftop patio to hang wet laundry. Alternatively, there is a local service that provides laundry service and pickup/delivery laundry. Please ask for WhatsApp phone #.
Children Under 12: No children under 12 are allowed on the property without management permission. Children over 12 are to be supervised in the pool area.
Unregistered Guests: Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight at the property. Up to 2 visitors are allowed per room during the daytime 8am-11pm but they cannot stay overnight without prior registration & approval.
Pets: We love animals, but we cannot host them - no matter how small and well-behaved. There is a $200 USD fine if pets are found to be occupying guest rooms & you will be asked to leave.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside any of the rooms but is permitted on your balcony. Smoking is not permitted in the rooftop patio or downstairs patio area's.
Alcoholic Beverages: Hummingbird Retreat does not hold a license to resell alcoholic beverages but our guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol for the consumption by guests of legal drinking age. For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, please drink responsibly. Parties will not be tolerated.
No Illegal Substances: Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate eviction from the property. You, your guests and visitors agree that any drug use on the property, or using the property for any unlawful purpose, or violation of any law or ordinance on or about the property will immediately terminate your occupancy and be grounds for immediate eviction from the property.
Pool Usage: Swimming Pool Hours: 7am – 10pm. No jumping / diving/ running in/around the pool. All children must be supervised at all times in/around the pool area. Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk. No lifeguard is on duty. Nudity is strictly forbidden.
Quiet Time: Quiet time is from 11pm to 6am. Out of courtesy to other guests and our neighbors please be quiet when you come in late or leaving early in the morning.
Damages: Guests are responsible for paying for breakages, damages & theft of items in the rooms. As with any property, there are times when devices stop working. Please contact the management team for any problems that you are having so that they can be repaired or replaced.
Keys: A set of keys to the room and front door will be provided to each occupant. Lost keys will incur a fee of $10USD per key.
Air Conditioning: The air conditioning unit must be turned off when not in the room. Electricity is an expensive item here in Cozumel and we ask guests to be considerate to ensure that units are not left running when you are not in the room.
Security/Liability: Hummingbird Retreat is not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft caused to your personal belongings or personal injuries. Each room contains a small safe that can be programmed with a personal 4 digit code to secure any valuables. Please be sure to secure doors/windows when leaving or entering the property.
Car Parking: There is street parking available outside the property for your car. For bicycles and mopeds, we do have space inside the garage. Please let us know if you need access and we will provide the appropriate key to access the gate.
Owner's Rights: Hummingbird Retreat is privately owned and operated. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for guest accidents or injury, or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind.
